A Meditation
by John Henry Newman
God has created me to do
Him some definite service.
He has committed some work
to me which He has not
committed to another
I am a link in a chain,
a bond of connection
between persons.
He has not created me
for naught.
I shall do good
I shall do His work.

When a student gains a place at Cardinal Newman Catholic School she or he will be welcomed into a community that prides itself on its care for each individual. Our school mission statement celebrates the uniqueness of each person. We recognise the personal and academic differences within our student body and it is our goal to offer an appropriate level of support and challenge that ensures individual growth and success.
As parents you entrust your children to us and it is our task to join in a partnership with the home to raise that child in a secure environment built on Christian principles that prepares each student for the world. Sound discipline, care and support, and academic challenge are our guidelines and we are confident that your children will benefit from their time at Cardinal Newman and will be encouraged to contribute towards our further growth.

Charlie Da'Vall Grice, Year 11, who is going from strength to strength following his marvellous win at the All England Schools' Meet at the weekend. Charlie also broke the 1500m championship record!
George Deacon, Year 7, who has been selected for the South East England Under 14 Basketball Team. We look forward to following George's progress.
Edward Lines, Year 7, the new British Orienteering Champion. We are thrilled with Edward's success.
CPD Quality Mark
The school recently applied for the CPD Quality Mark and went through a very rigorous verification process. At the end of the assessment the school was awarded the Gold CPD Quality Mark. Very few schools achieve the Gold mark and even fewer when applying for the first time. We are very pleased to have achieved this prestigious award!
Last Day of Term
All lessons will end for Years 7-13 at 1.30pm and afternoon registration will take place until 1.45pm. Students will be dismissed from school form by form. Room 01 is available for those students who wish to catch a school bus home at 3.10pm.
Farewells
We are very sad to be saying goodbye to colleagues at the end of term especially Mrs Shepherd who is retiring after 14 years of service to the school and Mr O'Sullivan after 39 years of service! We wish them and all our colleagues all the best for the future.
