A Meditation
by John Henry Newman
God has created me to do
Him some definite service.
He has committed some work
to me which He has not
committed to another
I am a link in a chain,
a bond of connection
between persons.
He has not created me
for naught.
I shall do good
I shall do His work.

The Department
As well as eleven visiting instrumental music teachers, the music department has four specialist teachers, all of whom are committed to expanding music in the classroom and in the area of public performance.
The first floor music suite has recently undergone an impressive upgrade and we now have excellent music technology equipment that rivals most other schools in the country. This allows students access to the most recent music publishing and production software.
Equipment
There are numerous pianos available in the school, as well as the whole range of traditional band, orchestral and classroom instruments, including drum kits, electric guitars and amplifiers. The Cardinal Newman set of Steel Drums provides an additional range of experience. All of these developments, together with our portable recording equipment, help us to provide the most advanced opportunities for work towards Music Examinations at GCSE and Advanced Level.
