We have always seen great success from our students and this is reflected in our GCSE and A-level results.
In Summer 2017, 92% of students gained a grade 4 or above for English and 84% of students gained a grade 4 or above for Mathematics which is the highest of any other state school in Brighton and Hove. A fantastic 81% of students passed Mathematics and English at Grade 4 or above. 77% of students achieved at least 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or above. The new government accountability measures showed that Cardinal Newman Catholic School had an Attainment 8 score of +52.22. Our Progress 8 score of +0.33 means that students achieved on average a third of a grade better than students with the same starting points nationally. In Summer 2017, 73% of students received A*-C grades at A-level – an increase of 3% on 2016 results. Over 50% of all entries were A*-B grades which, once again, saw an increase of 3% from the previous year.
