About Us

At Newman College we offer an exciting post-16 learning environment to help students achieve their goals. We know that this is a special and memorable stage in your life. You will want to take on new challenges. You will want to enjoy new, rewarding relationships with your fellow sixth form students and staff. You will be looking to discover more about yourself and the adult world around you. We will encourage and guide you on that journey.

Our highly specialised and skilled teaching staff are passionate about their subjects and are committed to the progress of each student. Class teaching may be through active debates, research or group work. We offer a varied programme of activities including trips, university visits, external speakers, the Extended Project, Sports Leadership and the Debating Society.

We are a modern Sixth Form Centre with state-of-the-art design. The Lecture Theatre is a space to reflect, listen and learn. The well-stocked library is equipped with the latest technology and our spacious classrooms create great light areas to work in. The Sixth Form Cafe provides the ideal place to meet friends and get involved with Newman social life.

Newman College is a Catholic Sixth Form Centre which offers a comprehensive programme of academic and personal support. Form tutor sessions, individual mentoring and reviews help students reflect, challenge, progress and succeed. The Progress Tutor will know each student as a unique individual and is always there to support, challenge and congratulate.

We have a long tradition of academic success and have regularly been the best school Sixth Form in the city for A-level results. We aim for every student to work hard, have high personal expectations and succeed.
