After a soggy start to the summer, the sun is finally shining upon us and we continue the athletics season with some amazing sporting success. Congratulations to our boys’ team at English Schools Athletics where they scored a school record of 436 points and came 2nd (with Harrow in 1st place). Amazing achievement! Well done also to all of our athletes at Towns Sport where we performed well across all age groups and events which culminated in us winning the event overall. Congratulations to all involved.
We are very lucky to have a staff team who are very passionate about everything they do and we are very proud that a group of them will be supporting Charlotte’s BAG – a charity close to all of our hearts that is run by a member of our staff, Alex Eades, after her daughter, a Newman alumna, sadly passed away from a deadly form of brain cancer called glioblastoma at just 19 years old. They will be walking from Charing Cross Station to Hove in just 24 hours on Thursday 27th/Friday 28th June. The walk is 52 miles! All the money donated goes directly to research at Charlotte’s Lab based at Kings College Hospital. If you would like to make a donation you can do so here: DONATE
And a huge WELL DONE to all of our students who have been completing their GCSEs and BTECs. Exam season is finally over for them! We wish them a relaxing and enjoyable summer!
