What a start to the new term we’ve had! The weather has meant that we could allow the students back on the fields again, which generally makes for much happier and healthier students. As ever, the school is busy and buzzing with energy; we welcomed back another highly successful ski trip and we are grateful to all staff who gave up their half term to enable our students to enjoy that experience. Year 11s are really starting to understand the reality of their forthcoming GCSEs. We tell them that exam nerves are entirely normal, but we will do all we can to support them through this time in their lives so that in August they will feel proud that they have achieved their personal best.
One of the privileges of working in a school are the moments of magic we witness on a daily basis. I just want to share one particular highlight with you. Every Friday morning we have our staff reflection in the Chapel. On the Friday before half term we were “flashmobbed” by the phenomenal cast of “Les Miserables” who gave a stirring version of “One Day More” to the staff and deservedly received a standing ovation. If you want to share a bit of that magic, you can see a short clip here: Les Miserables Flashmob
