GCSE season is really and truly underway now and we continue to support and pray for all of our students taking their exams; reminding them that this is a marathon and not a sprint! It’s all the work they have put in over the last five years which will help get them over the finishing line; not last minute cramming and panic revision.
Talking of slow and steady winning the race, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Florence the Snail to our School Reception area. She will be with us over the next week as she travels on tour through Brighton and Hove and we’re delighted to have her! Thank you to our lovely partners at Each Peach Nursery for organising her visit and raising money for The Martlets.
Elsewhere in school, our Year 9 students had an exciting and motivating visit to the University of Sussex to find out more about what subjects they can study at University and student finance. Our tradition of sporting excellence also continued this week as our Year 10 Boys Football Team won the Brighton Cup after a 4-0 win against Dorothy Stringer in the Final, our Year 7 Boys Football Team won the Brighton Cup after a 4-3 win on penalties (also against Dorothy Stringer), our U13 and U15 Boys Tennis teams both secured victories against Hurst with 4-3 and 6-0 wins, and our Year 10 Boys Cricket Team won by 28 runs against Blatchington Mill. We also had a number of winners at the Year 7 Super 6 Athletics at Withdean. Well done to all those who took part and our Sports Leaders who helped run the event and thank you to all our students for supporting each other and showing true caritas around the school.
