Year 7

In Year 7 students study Art, Drama, English Lit and Lang, Geography, History, IT, Music, RE, Science, Maths*, PE, DT, PSHE and Textiles. They also have a taster year in French Spanish and German.

*Maths is set from primary school data from after the October Half Term.

We recognise the differences in both ability and experience of our students when they join us from a large number of primary schools. We also recognise the fresh start that is offered by the move to a new school. Our tutor groups in Year 7 reflect these differences and represent the comprehensive nature of our school. All subjects (apart from Maths) are taught, in the first instance, in mixed ability groups, thus offering the essential social and academic mix we want as students establish themselves as members of this new school.
