Catholic School Inspection

‘Inspection is one of the ways a Bishop acts as a shepherd of his schools,  protecting, supporting and encouraging  them’. Catholic Schools Inspectorate, 2022.

Following the Focus Visit in January 2023, we have responded to all of the recommendations; we believe we are fully compliant with the recommendations of the Bishop’s Conference, and our Bishop Richard Moth. There is now a dedicated RE classroom in the sixth form college block, opposite the Chaplaincy Space. The Director of Faith and Ethos opens the space every day and it has become a vibrant, social hub for the whole college community, as well as being used as a safe space for mentoring and pastoral care.

The Director of Faith and Ethos participates in the College leadership team meetings, working alongside the Vice Principal, the Director of KS5 and the Assistant Headteacher to ensure a consistent approach to both the seven year spiritual journey and a two year spiritual journey for our students.

All students now have the opportunity to experience the transcendent nature of the Chapel, and small class teaching Masses are now embedded into the spiritual journey of our students.

Our response to feedback is consistent with our whole school approach and monitored through our quality assurance systems.

Furthermore, in our most recent parent survey,  90% agree that they are supportive of our Catholic mission and understand it, and that the school is a joyful and supportive community. 96% of parents reported  that the school supports them as the first educator of their child.
